Modding firmware for Ninebot F series

Is there a way to download the current firmware from the scooter and customize it from a dedicated software (C, Linux,...?)
Because I do want to experiment with my Ninebot F40 (Global) and F40E by increasing motor efficiency, adding cruise control, assign preferred speed or duplicate to the xxxE version.
