(TUT) Unlocking the full 30 kph (18.6 mph) top speed of the Ninebot Max (stock, four methods, updated early 2021)

Hello, in this guide I will show you how to unlock the full potential of the stock Ninebot Max. This step is not necessary on the G30P and G30LP scooters, as they're unlocked from the factory.

Important info

• This guide only works on bluetooth-enabled scooters

• You will need a bluetooth-enabled Windows 10 PC or Android device.

• This guide may not work on DRV145, if you want to change your region on DRV145 you might have to downgrade to DRV126.

• Changing your serial number or version will NOT void your warranty, as long as you change it back for any warranty repairs.

Method 1 - Android device - ScooterHacking Utility.

Step 1 - Download the ScooterHacking Utility from https://scooterhack.in/utility
Step 2 - Turn on your scooter and connect to it using the app.
Step 3 - Select "change region", then "US".
For G30LE and G30LD scooters select "custom", and type in your current serial number, but change the first 4 characters to N4GN
You can also select "Speedboost" to implement the "golden" or "magic" serial number


The scooter will reboot. By this point it'll go 30 km/h. Enjoy the speed :)

Method 2 - Windows 10 PC, Ninebot Flasher

Step 1 - Download Ninebot Flasher from the Windows Store - https://bit.ly/Ninebot-Flasher
Step 2 - Turn on your scooter and connect to it using the app.
Step 3 - Your current serial number will be displayed (ESC SN), type it into the box in the middle of the screen (ALL CAPS), but change the first 4 characters to N4GS.
For G30LE and G30LD scooters use the N4GN prefix.
You can also change your SN to begin with N4GSD1111C, that will enable the full available speed (over 30 kph on some scooters).
Step 4 - Click Ctrl-A and press Write ESC SN TWICE, or until the serial number (ESC SN) gets changed.

Step 5 - Restart your scooter and enjoy the speed :)

Method 3 - Windows 10 PC, Ninebot IAP

Step 1 - Download Ninebot IAP from https://iap.scooterhacking.org/get
Step 2 - Turn on your scooter
Step 3 - Go to BLE and click "Start scan", select your scooter and click "Connect"
Step 4 - Go to the "Tools" tab, and click "Read".
Wait until Output gives you the serial number and click "Change SN"
Step 5 - Type your current serial number into the box, but change the first 4 characters to N4GS, and click OK.
For G30LE and G30LD scooters use the N4GN prefix.
You can also change your SN to begin with N4GSD1111C, that will enable the full available speed (over 30 kph on some scooters).

Step 6 - Restart your scooter and enjoy the speed :)

Hi, I tried this with a Australian G30

The scooter does a couple of beeps and nothing else.
Doesn't reboot or anything.

The region does change in the app, but speeds remain the same?

Any idea? Cheers

Sorry for the late answering. It will only work with a non-restricted firmware version. (e.g. DRV1.6.3 = or <)
If you try it with SHU, downgrade your BLE-Version to v1.1.4.

Hello I also have an Australian G30 Max.

I downgraded to BLE 1.1.4 as suggested. No change to top speed.

I also changed region to US, but no change in speed. Even though app says the region is changed.

Any ideas?

Only an unrestricted firmware version will allow operation.
In order to test it out with SHU, you'll need to roll back to BLE version 1.1.4.
