Spin Max Flashing with IAP help!

Hello everyone,
I need help with flashing/converting my spin ninebot max. I'm following the IAP tutorial and I'm using method 3.
I connected to the controller through uart to USB cable on BMS. The IAP console says it's sending and receiving but it's not giving me any info on what firmware or ble/BMS the scooter has. It doesn't recognize which model my scooter is either. Then my dashboard is giving the error 21 which is a problem with connecting to BMS. But I know the scooter bms works as I reconnected the BMS connector and it's not giving error 21 anymore. I tried flashing ble 110/113, doesn't work. So I'm stumped.
The only part I'm confused with the tutorial that it said to disconnect the bms connector (and connect the uart) but keep the black power connector on, but I'm not sure what's a black power connector? That's for xt60 battery plug or? I suspect that's the problem but not sure as I'm a newbie.
