Spin Conversion - Folding Pole

Want to convert the straight pole on a Spin G30 to folding pole. I've purchased the folding pole, rear fender tab, and the handlebar hook.
Has anyone done this (and can provide advice of course on the gotchas -- best to ask before diving into the shallow end :-) )?
Looks like I'll need to drill a hole into the frame to run the controller cable out (and then back into the folding pole). Is that correct? Did you have to remove the battery to route it?
Then it's replacing the current pole and routing the cables back through it.
Anything that I'm missing?
