G30 Max Ex-rental ESC Replacement

I have a Ninebot G30 Max that is an ex-rental from a police auction. I have identified that the speed controller unit is fried and need a replacement. The current one is a different style to the normal retail scooters and mounts between the steering column and where you stand on the scooter. I'm wondering how would I go about getting the scooter going? Can the retail ESC be rewired or something to work if I buy one? It has different connections it looks like.

I have successfully re-flashed the BMS and dashboard already using the instructions for converting it for personal use that's on these forums, in case that information assists with answering my question.
