2023 Updates to Flashing Firmware?

Postby noveske Wed Apr 26, 2023 10:29 pm

Just looking for some guidance and what order I should attempt flashing. Just wanted confirmation on if I am headed in the right direction or for someone to point me the right way. Everything I've found was from 2019-2020. It seemed there may have been some advancements to apps. So was looking for a quick walkthrough.

I am getting a reconditioned ES4 with DRV 1.5.0 and would like to flash a CFW compiled by the site.

A lot of the guides / walkthroughs mention the use of XiaoFlasher.
Would ScooterHacking Utility App be the most up to date app for this?

From what I've researched I'm assuming that XiaoFlasher or ScooterHacking Utility and DownG should be able to accomplish this?

So I would compile CFW from the site. Downgrade BLE firmware by matching what's currently on the scooter in the app. Then flash the CFW with the Utility or DownG?

Then going the ST-Link method would only be required if I need to downgrade DRV from the most current firmware or higher than 1.5.1?
Is the newer ScooterHacking Utility able to downgrade from 1.6.4?

I've been searching and just didn't find much that was recent for the ES4. Guessing it's just old news and everyone's moved onto better. Thanks.

There's not really anything new for the ES4 in 2023, you don't need an stlink unless you have rental software or you had a failed flash/bricked it. There are no firmwares released by ninebot with downgrade protection for the es4 as of yet.

The ST-Link method is usually employed when you need to downgrade or update the DRV firmware to versions not supported by mobile apps. You would connect an ST-Link programmer to your scooter's control board and use specific software to update or downgrade the DRV firmware.
