ESx external battery troubleshooting

Need some help trouble shooting!!
Im having issues with an external battery of the ninebot ESx. Its throwing error 42, apart from that its full of charge, the led indicator works, it takes charge . so i checked the connector and this looks fine(clean and shiny) Its not the esc(tried multiple).
So ive wired it up as an internal battery(the correct way!) Hooked up that way its throwing error 21(bms communication), cant get it to read any info true xiaoflasher. So im guessing it could be some kind lf firmware issue since im reading 40volts output on the xt30 connector meaning the bms in fact is functioning, ive tryed multiple older versions of firmware (hopeing there would be an older bms firmware on) but again without luck😖🤦🏻♂️
Soooo ive opened up the battery, removed the sticky grey(solicone?) and the bms is blinking blue, checked the rx tx connections to the connector but all seems fine.. soo im lost now, is there a way to flash the bms firmware with st link?
