bought bird es4 from wrecker auction needing some help getting it to run.

greetings, and apology in advance if this has already been answered. I haven't been able to find it.
bought a bird es4 (ext battery) from wrecker auction.
ordered clone dash and installed it, and it beeps but doesn't show battery indicator and does not ride. tail lights blink & then it shuts off.
so what i'm asking is what is my best option? do I need to get an oem dash and does it need to be programmed? like the serial #?
I would like to be able to use custom firmware.
Finally, where can I acquire a oem dashboard where I dont have to worry of receiving a clone.
