ES2 slow after custom firmware

Postby oliersej Mon Jun 24, 2019 12:20 pm

Hi, I just got a new ES2(waiting for my external battery to arrive), but it is limited to 20 km/h.
So I wanted to try and patch it with the custom software to go over the limit.
The problem is after I patch it, it becomes really slow.
The acceleration is really bad and it can't even make it to 20 on a straight road.
But if I drive it downhill it can reach a speed of 23 km/h(normally it will break to keep it at 20), but as soon as the road goes up the hill again it will go back to like 17-18 km/h.
Also as soon as I switch back to the stock firmware, the acceleration works great and it can easily hold the speed at 19-20 km/h.

Does anyone know what could be wrong? Have tried a couple of different settings from the Custom Firmware Toolkit.

Thanks :)

Which parameter did you give to the firmware patcher?

Hi there,
I've got an ES2L with external battery, running:
BMS: 141
BLE: 107
DRV: 1.5.0

After patching to 1.3.9 (setting max speed to 32km/h) I'm able to reach a higher top speed, but only downhill (25-30km/h). But the acceleration with 1.3.9 is quite poor and I'm almost not able to hit and hold the 20km/h or even more on a level road….
So tryed different parameters in the patcher, like motor power constant (stock, 48000 and 44000), but same and no improvements.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong or might change for improvment?

try to use fw 133 and power constant 48k, the acceleration should be better als standard

Thx.

V1.3.3 seems better than v1.3.9 and reaching 24km/h max., but uphill only 13-10km/h.

With original 1.5.0/1.5.1 I'm able to hold 15km/h uphill and get the 21km/h max. on a level road, 1 more than it should at least. (Downhill 30-32km/h, have to find a longer road for testing...). Also acceleration seems/feels still more powerful with v1.5.

try 120 with powerconstant 42k and tell ur max speed.
could be that the mosfets on the board are dying
